Once again, colleagues from IBM Technology have done a great job. Similar to last year, Martin Keen presents his perspective on what could become important in the field of AI next year. Transparent and understandable as always!
Of the 8 topics he addresses, 2 are particularly important in my view:
AI Agents: the trend from this year continues here. Breaking down complex tasks into digestible portions and letting agents or even agent teams take care of them. As we expect the use cases to become increasingly complex, the upcoming LLMs should also focus more strongly on reasoning.
Human-AI augmentation: Martin uses an interesting example to illustrate where the collaboration between AI and humans may be flawed. The assumption is that an expert with AI as support should deliver better results than AI alone. In my view, it's a bit of a call for our team and employees to have the right skills. Like any technological system, dealing with AI requires experience, knowledge and constant development.
Either way, 2025 will continue to deliver many new developments and innovations in the field of AI. And we should continue to test and implement real applications in our processes. In my view, the added value in the area of procurement can hardly be denied. And I will also try to make my small contribution to this.
And what do you see as the TOP focus in the area of AI for 2025?
